Why I'm Getting Roasted - My Side of the Story
Ultimate Snowbike/Snowmobile Adventure Gear Guide - Wranglerstar in the PNW
Hey, fellow adventurers, Wranglerstar here! In today's video, I'm taking you through my personal checklist for a snowbike/snowmobile trip in the beautiful backcountry of the Pacific Northwest. From my well-maintained snowbike to the essential helmet with a visor and insulated gloves, I’ve got you covered. I always suit up in a waterproof and insulated snowmobile suit, complete with sturdy, warm boots, and don't forget those handlebar hand warmers for extra comfort.
Safety is my top priority, so I’m equipped with an avalanche transceiver, probe, and snow shovel, alongside a trusty first aid kit. I never ride without my emergency whistle, multi-tool, and a flashlight or headlamp for those darker trails. And, a fire extinguisher is a must-have for any unexpected situations.
Survival in the wilderness is all about being prepared. That's why I pack an emergency blanket, water purification essentials, high-energy food, and a compact stove. Sunscreen, lip balm, and insect repellent are small but critical items in my pack. And in a pinch, a small mirror can be a lifesaver for signaling.
Comfort during the ride is key, so I layer up with thermal underwear, fleece or wool, and pack extra socks. A neck gaiter keeps the chill out, and sunglasses protect against the bright snow glare. I carry all my personal items, including identification and some cash, in a waterproof backpack.
Navigation in the PNW’s vast wilderness is crucial. My GPS device, along with a traditional topographic map and compass, keeps me on track. And I stay connected with the world using two-way radios or a satellite communicator.
Of course, hydration and nutrition are vital, so I carry an insulated water bottle and plenty of snacks. For those longer rides, a portable water filter is essential.
And what's an adventure without capturing those breathtaking moments? I bring along my camera, spare batteries, and a power bank. Plus, a repair kit, tow strap, and a notebook are always in my pack, just in case.
Join me as I delve into each item's importance and share my personal experiences using them in the wild, rugged terrain of the PNW. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more outdoor adventure content. Your comments and tips are always welcome!
