Making clay and grog crucibles for melting metal
This is how I make crucibles for metal casting. 50/50 w/w grog (crushed fire brick) to fire clay with the barest minimum of water to make the mixture adhere together so that it can be compacted into a mold. Once fired they are very strong. ....and are as cheap as chips!.
