Yaesu FTdx10 Memory TX in Action (Video #27 in this series)
My good friend Joel, KC4WZB, loaned me his brand new Yaesu FTdx10. When I say loaned, I mean he picked it up at Ham Radio Outlet and brought it straight to me, so I could unbox it and shoot a series of videos, exploring the capabilities of this latest offering from Yaesu.
This is the twenty-seventh video in a series of videos I have produced to show the capabilities of the Yaesu FTdx10. In this video I use the Memory Transmit function to send CW. For example, instead of sending CW with your Morse key, you let the radio send it for you.
And think of this: The FTdx10 has a CW decode function that can display the CW you are listening to in plain English, on the display. So you can chase SOTA, POTA, and rare DX stations without actually knowing Morse code. Or at least use the Memory TX Keyer and decode function as a backup while you are still learning CW.
If you haven’t watch Video #26 in this series, I suggest that you watch it first. This will make more sense after you view Video #26.
Remember that you must enable menu option BK-IN for automatic TX. This menu option is required for CW transmit anyway.
If you plan to use Memory Transmit on a regular basis, I recommend the Yaesu FH-2 remote control, which allows you to transmit your recorded messages instantly, simply by pressing the number on the remote that corresponds to the memory slot of the message you wish to transmit.
