Bettye LaVette - singer and author joins host Sheryl McCarthy to talk about Ms. LaVette's memoir "A Woman Like Me" where "she holds nothing back about herself, the music business, or the people in it." The conversation spans many years and places - from the 60s in Detroit, where Bettye began her R & B singing career to the present, and her concert at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
