How to make a segmented walking cane

I had this idea to make a cane for my dad. My first design was simple and boring so I scrapped it. I came up with the idea for a segmented cane and could not find any videos of this so I made one. I did this without a lathe or CNC which would make this quicker I think. I made this video "Diresta style" or quick play without narration. This is made with scraps wood and a steel rod from an old baby crib. I did buy the rubber foot. I estimate I put at least 40 hours into making this.
