Battle of Longewala was fought in 1971 India Pakistan war. In this battle, only 120 soldiers of 23 Punjab regiment fought against 3000 soldiers of Pakistan. Pakistan attacked Longewala post with around 50 to 60 tanks and armored vehicles. Indian Army's 23rd battalion, Punjab Regiment was commanded by Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri.
Major Kudleep Singh was in touch with head office. Major Kuldeep was ordered to save the post or leave the post. In this situation he decided not to leave the post.
Pakistani army got trapped by Indian soldiers and could not proceed. With the first light Indian air force attacked and destroyed Pakistani tanks.
This battle shows how Sikh and Dogra soldiers fought and won.
