With this piece I'm employing my newly acquired technique I call 'alternail picking' to achieve high velocities instead of using picado. Either will work of course, but I've started to notice more tension in my body and strange posture when I need to pull off a quick picado. Seeing my good friend deal with focal distonia in his guitar hand, I started looking for alternatives. I'm lucky, my hands are fine, and pain free. I'm just exploring injury prevention. If you're having pain or problems associated with any technique, I encourage you to look for alternatives.
