Clark 446 Rebel Go Kart { Second Restoration }

Here's a second video on my Clark 446 Rebel go kart with up dated info on Clark Go Karts. The "Rebel" models date to the late 1970's early 1980's and were inspired by the Gen. Lee of the Dukes of Hazard TV show. There were two models , the 3hp 331 & 5hp 446. It has now been brought back to its original orange color. The Thomas Manco wheels are almost exact copies of the original wheels these karts came with, I had partial wheels to compare when I got the kart. The originals like the pedals are marked Clark Mfg. It sports period NOS Carlisle tires. Currently powered by a vintage Chrysler 2 stroke 580 Power Bee engine, it was originally equipped with a 5hp Briggs engine. Nice looking kart great for kids.. its a live axle and has a 4 -1/2 in Brand Brake. These Clarks were thinly disguised copies of the Rupp A-Bone Karts. Also the floor pan originally had a Rebel Battle flag decal with the word "The Rebel" in black under it.....that gave the kart the look of the "Gen Lee" its inspiration, with its orange color. ID tags were small 1" x 2" laminated paper and were affixed to the seat back behind the cushion . It gave the Model No. and the Serial No. I have the original tag.

Other Clark models were the 440 Cyclops which was equipped with a 4hp Briggs engine and a deluxe seat. This frame was identical to the Rebel except for the graphics and color , the 330 Cyclops which was a little bit shorter and had a 3hp Briggs engine , No center jewel pad on the seat cushion and the Ft. bumper was also straight across, no dip. The 660 Cyclops had a two person bench seat with a 4hp Briggs engine. I believe the company closed down around 1993. The Clark Manufacturing Co. was located in Conyers Georgia and also made Mini Bikes. ALL of which are collectable today. I have no idea when they creased production of this particular model.
