WHAT WE FOUND is A Sailor's WORST NIGHTMARE | Sailing with Lucy S3 E21

If you are a live-aboard sailor restoring any part of your boat, in the back of your mind you will harbour a fear that when you start to pull things apart you will find every sailor’s worst NIGHTMARE, something that will cost you thousands, leave you without a home and cancel your plans for weeks, months or even for good. During the deck renovation of our 26 year old boat Kekaimalu we didn't worry too much, we’ve owned her for 17 years and have been living aboard for 6 of those and we knew the quality of the build is superb and I guess that's why we were so shocked by what we found during the last leg of our restoration. It made our hearts sink. After all our work, this had the potential to change everything.
