Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Surprise Cake | Hello Kitty Cooking Fun

Hello Friends! Today is extra special because we’re celebrating Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary! Can you believe our adorable friend has been spreading joy and friendship for half a century? We’re making a magical Hello Kitty number surprise cake! When we cut into it, we’ll reveal the number 50. Let’s gather our supplies and start baking!

Materials Needed
9x5 in loaf pan
Piping bags and tips
Food coloring
Funfetti
Apricot jam
Number cookie cutters
3 boxes of pound cake
Buttercream frosting
Fondant
Sugar
Butter
Water

(01:20) Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour your loaf pan. Then mix your first batch of pound cake batter and add in Funfetti.

(01:33) Step 2: Add food coloring to one batch of mixed pound cake and bake it. When cooled, put it in the freezer. Slice it and cut out 5’s and 0’s from each slice. Place them back in the freezer.

(02:10) Step 3: Assemble cake batter and number cutouts in the loaf pan. Bake according to cake mix instructions.

(02:00) Step 4: Remove the cake from the oven and let cool. Spread apricot jam all over the cake and cover in fondant.

(03:07) Step 5: Drizzle colored royal icing all over the cake and pipe on buttercream frosting. Add desired decorations. Now it's time to enjoy!
