You're in Hotel Zone in Cancun - can you feel safe on the city bus?

Hey Travelers! You know I travel often and part of that is to experience as much as I can.
I have been taking the city bus in hotel zone in Cancun for years.
Its reliable, SAFE and so inexpensive - less that $1.
If you ask the driver, where is...the mall, the ferris wheel, local eateries, he will tell you.
If you are at the beginning of hotel zone, maybe near Dreams Emerald Bay and you are 2 parents with 2 kids and want to go shopping at Las Isla - a taxi can be about $5 to 10.
Why pay that!
If you are enjoying a holiday in Cancun, a challenge you to try this anytime from early morning till early evening.
The buses run every five minutes, with the most popular routes being R1 and R2. Either of these routes will take you back and forth between downtown and the Hotel Zone. A one-way fare typically costs $10.50 Pesos which is roughly 50 cents in USD.
I have taken the local bus from Hard Rock Riviera Maya to Cancun - interesting and cheap!
Cancun Airport has several terminals with pick up from a range of very convenient locations right outside each terminal. You will be dropped off at the ADO bus stations in Cancun (starting at $5 usd), Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Tulum and Merida.
