Quantum Optics 1: Review of basic quantum mechanics
Lecture 1 of the "Introduction to Quantum Optics" course that I taught on 2020's spring term at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This short lecture reviews the basics of Quantum Mechanics, as are used throughout the rest of the course.
The whole video-course consists on 16 installments (~2.5h each), and covers the essentials of the topic, including the quantum theory of the electromagnetic field and atoms, their basic interactions, and the theory of open quantum-optical systems. The course is self-contained and follows my own detailed notes (comments are welcome, since they are planned to appear as a book sometime on 2020/2021). All materials of the course, including these videos, blackboards, and exercise sheets, can be downloaded from:

Disclaimer: Keep in mind that this is my first time teaching online (due to COVID19), so it took me some time to adapt and feel comfortable talking to a monitor, instead of real students. I nevertheless decided to share the lectures, since I got a few requests from students around the globe who have no access to this topic at their universities. I hope they are useful!
