Sewing 101 Industrial Pfaff Rotary Hook removal on 145 machine

Two levels of repair shown minor and major:

(1) Minor ; To clear thread jam typically only the arc shaped gib piece is removed and the bobbin case base removed. Then the hook to is cleaned and the fouled thread removed. The hook is NOT removed. The GIB has three small screws that are called E1, E2 and E3 by Pffaf.

(2) Major; to replace or inspect the hook. Task (1) is done then the big flat head screw of the hook is removed with a very short stubby flat head screwdriver. The three pieces are ALL keyed so there are not timing issues to deal with. In this video I removed the "feed dog" so I could remove the hook. Since there are different "feed dog" types; maybe on some models removing the feed dog might not be required. Once the big flat head screw is removed the hook can be lifted up vertically to remove. Then the "hook buffer plate" can be removed. The last piece is the "bobbin case opener" can be removed. This repair is not really such a major thing to do. The hardest thing is ding a few "trys" to align the three pieces to the key. The pin in the eccentric drive allows only one way for the pieces to go back together.
