Personal Finance Tracker Project Series | Node.js Backend + React UIintro
In this series, we will build a **Personal Finance Tracker application from scratch**.
Most expense tracking apps only record simple income and expenses. But real life finances are more complex. We deal with **bank accounts, wallets, credit cards, loans, EMIs, subscriptions, refunds, and money lent to friends**.
In this project series, we will design and build a system that can handle these real-world financial scenarios.
The backend will be built using **Node.js**, data will be stored in **SQLite**, and later we will build a **React frontend** to interact with the application.
The goal of this series is to explore how a real finance application can be structured and built step by step.
Topics covered in the series include:
• Financial sources (accounts, wallets, credit cards)
• Transaction system design
• Split transactions
• Loan and EMI tracking
• Contact lending and borrowing
• Recurring payments and subscriptions
• Budgets and financial insights
In the **next episode**, we will start by designing the **database schema for the application**.
If you enjoy learning by building real projects, this series will walk through the process step by step.
