How to reset windows administrator password

Reset windows admin password (Tested in windows server 2012)

Step 1 - Boot the server with Windows installation CD

Step 2 - Click on "Repair my computer"

Step 3 - Click on "Troubleshoot"

Step 4 - Command prompt will open go to "D drive"

Step 5 - Change directory using "cd windows\system32"
Rename utilman file using command
"ren utilman.exe utilman.exe.old"

Step 6 - Copy cmd.exe to utilman.exe using command
"copy cmd.exe utilman.exe"

Step 7 - Close the command prompt and click continue to reboot
server
Note - boot windows from harddisk

Step 8 - Press Windowskey + u when you get login window will
open cmd

Step 9 - Enter the command "net user Administrator
Password@123456" where Administrator is your
username and "Password@123456" is the new password

Step 10 - Now you can login with your new password after
successful login revert utilman.exe file by reboot server
using windows installation CD

Step 11 - Repeat step 1,2,3 & 4

Step 12 - Rename utilman.exe using command "ren utilman.exe
utilman.exe.old1"

Step 13 - Rename utilman.exe.old using command
"ren utilman.exe.old utilman.exe"

Step 14 - Close command prompt and reboot server using harddisk

After completing all above steps your are successfully reset windows login password.
