"Beautiful Day" by U2 (Instrumental Cover)

EDIT: Sorry, folks. Video got blocked because I sampled a couple small loops (each less than six seconds long) from the original song, and I guess that got picked up by the content ID algorithm. I post these covers by and large to help people learn how to play these songs on guitar and bass. I tried to remove the claimed sample through YouTube, but the entire audio file ended up getting muted. I’m going to leave this video up in case it helps people to figure out note placement, but I’m feeling pretty discouraged after this. My channel is COMPLETELY demonetized. I have never attempted to earn money by playing these covers — ever — and again, I post them with the intention of helping other guitarists and bassists. I’m not sure that I’ll ever post another video after this — it’s not worth it to spend all that time and effort on getting it as perfect as I can, only to have the video blocked because a record company worth billions might miss out on a few extra cents when fans within low YouTube subscriber numbers record and upload covers to help out other fans...

Original Description: The fifteenth anniversary of Beautiful Day's release is coming up soon (jeeze, has it been THAT long?), so I figured I'd haul out the ol' guitar. This was the song that formally introduced me to U2 and The Edge, the song that compelled me to dust off the guitar I'd received for my thirteenth birthday earlier that year, and the song that made me determined to one day get my hands on a Gibson Explorer. It taught me a lot, too; I remember, for instance, that I had absolutely no idea how to play barre chords back then, so I watched the music video over and over again until I figured it out ... and the rest, as they say, is history. Thanks for fifteen years, U2!

Re: this cover: I used a POD HD500 for all guitar and bass, created the drum track with Addictive Drums, and sampled some of the original studio recording to add some flavour. Also, no, my cat can't teleport; I decided to record two separate guitar tracks for this, as the HD500 unfortunately doesn't allow effects from one patch to bleed over into another patch when you switch between the two.
