How to Change RDP Port on Windows Server 2025 + Enable NLA (Stop Hackers!)

In this video, I’ll show you how to improve the security of Windows Server 2025 by changing the default Remote Desktop (RDP) port and enabling Network Level Authentication (NLA).

By default, RDP uses port 3389, which is widely targeted by hackers and automated bots. If you expose it without protection, your server becomes vulnerable to brute-force attacks.

You will learn:
✔ How to change the default RDP port in Windows Server 2025
✔ How to configure Windows Firewall for the new port
✔ How to enable Network Level Authentication (NLA)
✔ Why NLA is important for protecting your server before login
✔ Best security practices for Remote Desktop environments

🔐 What is NLA?
Network Level Authentication adds an extra layer of security by requiring users to authenticate before a full RDP session is created, helping prevent unauthorized access and reducing attack risks.

💡 IMPORTANT SECURITY TIP:
Changing the RDP port alone is not enough. You should always combine it with:

Strong passwords
NLA enabled
Firewall restrictions
VPN access (recommended for production environments)

If you're working with Windows Server, system administration, or cybersecurity, this is a must-know hardening technique.
