The Garmin glo can be connected to your iOS device via bluetooth. It is iPad, iPhone, and iPod compatible (bluetooth dependant). If your iOS device already has a built in GPS the glo will override that data and give you the better position data from the Garmin glo.

The Garmin glo is a Bluetooth based positioning device that uses two Global Navigation Satellite Systems. GPS (aka Navstar) and Glonass. GPS is the worldwide system built and maintained by the USA Government. Glonass is the Russian equivalent. Have both systems in the Unit allows for better accuracy in regular conditions. In hard to track areas a combo receiver will be able to get a GPS position where other devices cant like in a canyon.
