3 Days Wildlife Photography With The Muskox

We are on a trip to do Wildlife Photography in the high mountains of Norway. My main goal in this episode is to photograph the MUSKOX, the King of the mountains. Join a WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER in the field and behind the scenes while I capture all footage with my Nikon Z6 and Z50.

When confronted with the weather conditions on my first days you will see me in a tough spot, starting to compare myself limited abilities with the great Morten Hilmer. You will see after I left my tent that I am doing some time-lapse photography and then start out to find the animals in the field. I am to find two muskox herds before I turn back to my tent and get a visit from a friend. Together we start off the next day to concentrate fully on photography to get the best photos of Muskox we can.

Camping in Fall and high in the mountains with all the beautiful orange, yellow and red colors around is possibly one of the most beautiful, but toughest things I have ever done in my young career. This trip gave me a new sense of wilderness, freedom, and what I am able to achieve in the future.

DOVREFJELL is a place where you can find real inhabitants of THE WILD NORTH like the mighty MUSKOX or giant bull MOOSE. This year we are finding Dovrefjell covered in Fall Colors, yellow, orange and brown. The Muskox have formed Harems and are in the middle of their reproductive season. The Muskoxen has lived on Dovrefjell in ancient times and has only recently made its return by reintroduction from Greenland, twice. May time show if the precious ecosystem that has found its place here, survives the threats of the years to come.
