Centrelink accused of chasing debts that don't exist | 7.30

There aren't many groups of Australians as pilloried as dole bludgers and welfare cheats.

So when the Turnbull government announced a major crackdown in 2016, most Australians were happy to see it.

That move has relied heavily on automation to pursue suspected rorters.

More than 400,000 people have received so-called 'robodebts', but there are questions about whether they've always been accurate and lawful.
