Rod Wave concert postponed to unknown date following DOCO disturbance

A late concert opening and a disturbance in the Downtown Commons created a storm of confusion and prompted law enforcement to clear the area during a packed concert at Golden 1 Center on Friday night. Sacramento police said around 9 p.m. officers responded to reports of a possible shooting in the area of DOCO plaza. Officials said officers found evidence of fireworks in the plaza. There was no indication of any gunfire. Rap artist Rod Wave was performing a concert at the arena on Friday night. The Golden 1 Center originally said the show was rescheduled to Saturday. "The safety of our guests and fans is our number one priority," the arena shared on X. On Saturday afternoon, the arena said in a press announcement that the Rod Wave Concert at Golden 1 Center has been postponed due to staffing issues. The tour will announce the reschedule date and all tickets will be honored, according to Golden 1 Center.
