Guitar with Alex Skolnick

Alex Skolnick is well known for defying expectations, first by becoming – as an early member of Testament – one of the emerging thrash metal movement’s few lead guitar virtuosos (alongside Megadeth’s Marty Friedman) to achieve respect outside the genre. Within a few years, Alex would trade his native Berkeley for Brooklyn, earn a BfA in jazz from The New School and become a New York improvisor of multiple styles. Whether shredding loudly with Testament and other hard music projects or delicately improvising and accompanying the world’s great instrumentalists, Skolnick has found his own niche as a guitarist.
