The long awaited second half Finding my mental health in Jamaica documentary... To be honest this is the hardest video I have ever had to upload. It was very uncomfortable to convince myself to be this vulnerable on the internet but I am doing this for more than myself. As Jamaicans the rest of the world may see us as a jovial and always energetic people who are filled with vibes.... but that is far from the truth. I went to therapy on camera because I want to contribute to the mental health conversation that Jamaica so desperately needs. The truth is many of us are depressed and battling demons without knowing about the mental health resources at our disposal. We do not need a 'Wellness Bench," or any superficial token that brands only decide to promote during mental health awareness month or on world mental health day... We need to actively make mental health part of our daily lives because so many of us desperately need the education and resources to simply get up each morning.
