Air Ambulance En Route To Delhi Crashes In Jharkhand | Kills All 7 On Board, DGCA Probe Ordered

An air ambulance operated by Redbird Airways Private Limited crashed in a forest near Simaria in Jharkhand's Chatra district on Monday evening, killing all seven people on board. The Beechcraft C90 VT-AJV aircraft took off from Ranchi Airport at 7.11 pm en route to Delhi and went missing around 7.30 pm, losing contact with Air Traffic Control Kolkata. The aircraft was transporting a burn patient, Sanjay Kumar, who had 65 per cent burns and was being referred to a higher medical centre in Delhi on the family's demand. On board were two pilots, a doctor, paramedical staff, and two family attendants. The crash site was located deep inside a forest in Baryatu Panchayat area. Local officials cordoned off the area and recovered all seven bodies, which were sent for post-mortem. The DGCA has ordered a probe into the incident, with technical and weather factors under investigation. The IMD had issued an alert predicting gusty winds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour with thunderstorms and heavy rain.
