LIVESTREAM: Battle of Blair Mountain Centennial Kickoff Event
If you can’t wear a mask, are feeling sick, or otherwise can’t join in person, we invite you to stay home and join our livestream for the Battle of Blair Mountain Centennial kick-off event in Charleston, West Virginia on Friday, September 3rd at 7:00 PM.
We’re proud to offer this livestream of the Blair Kickoff Event for free thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and volunteers. But you can show your solidarity and support the preservation and promotion of Mine Wars History by making a “pay-what-you-want” ticket donation at the Blair 100 secure website: https://bit.ly/blair100donate
This is a donation-based “ticket” to show your solidarity for the Blair 100 program and is not a ticket to the live event.
The Battle of Blair Mountain is a history that can’t just be told, it must also be sung. Music and poetry were more than moral support for striking coal miners; they were a vehicle by which the suppressed history of the Mine Wars and Blair Mountain were passed from one generation to the next.
The Battle of Blair Mountain Centennial is made possible through the following Dynamite Sponsors: West Virginia Mine Wars Museum, United Mine Workers of America, National Coal Heritage Area Authority, the National Endowment for the Humanities, Wolfe, Williams, and Reynolds, Communications Workers of America, and the West Virginia Humanities Council.
To find a full list of virtual/outdoor/in-person events and sponsoring organizations, please visit our updated website at www.blair100.com
