How to - weld body panels with a spot welder / resistance welder

This is Robert at Guzzi Fabrication, today we are assembling a lower and upper custom splash apron on a 49 chevy with a recessed bumper, and we are going to accomplish this using a resistance / spot welder.

I use a spot welder when possible because :
1. it replicates the way the factory assembled panels and bodies
2. speeds assembly time
3. every weld is consistent
4. no grinding / dressing welds after

There are limitations..... tong length and shape, not every place that needs to be welded is accessible with this process and for those situations, it back to plug welding.
