The Flaming Lips - Live at BMU Grill at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI (September 28, 1989)
The Flaming Lips perform live at the BMU Grill at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (09/29/89). Notably, Nirvana were set to open for the Lips at this show but they ended up having to back out due to Kurt Cobain's stomach problems.
This concert features the first of three known appearances of "One Shot" in the "Scratchin' The Door" medley. Echo and The Bunnymen's "All That Jazz" and "Happy Death Men" are performed for the first time. The first of four performances of The Stooges "1969" is featured here. The second of four performances of Jonathan Richman's "Don't Let Our Youth Go To Waste" is also featured here. "Unconsciously Screamin'," which would go on to be a staple in the band's live sets, was played for the first time ever at this show. Billy Joel's "Captain Jack" was played for the only time ever. A rare performance of "Chrome Plated Suicide" is also featured. Keep in mind, this is only going off of setlists that have been documented.
