Sepsis Awareness: Honoring Krystal and Advocating for Black Maternal Health

Honoring Krystal on the last day of Black History Month: After a second-trimester stillbirth, she lost her life to sepsis. We must ensure Black mothers receive the care they deserve.

💔 In 2023, Black women were 3.5 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women.

🚨 Know the signs of sepsis (SEPSIS):
S – Shivering, fever, or cold
E – Extreme pain or discomfort
P – Pale, clammy, or discolored skin
S – Sleepy, confused, or hard to rouse
I – Increased heart rate
S – Shortness of breath

If you notice two or more symptoms, seek emergency care immediately. Early treatment saves lives. #SepsisAwareness #BlackMaternalHealth #HealthcareJustice
