HOW TO TRAIN LIKE A GYMNAST

Jack trains with Commonwealth Games Gymnast Luke Wadsworth at his gym Peak Performance in Balaclava, Melbourne. Luke takes Jack through a bunch of warm up, mobility, and preparation work followed by some skill specific drills and regressions of more advanced movements.

This was an incredibly humbling experience which put on display the lack of transference from heavy weight training to bodyweight control and coordination.

These new exercises and skills to incorporate in a new calisthenic journey will eventually lead to much greater athletic capabilities, better functionality and mobility that should pay dividends in Jiu Jitsu.
