William and Karen Payne: Leonard Wyatt Memorial Outstanding Cooperator Award Winners
William and Karen Payne are the 2019 Leonard Wyatt Memorial Outstanding Cooperator Award winners. They own the Destiny Ranch in St. Louis, Oklahoma.
This award is given annually to one of the 1,600 farmers and ranchers who work with the Noble Research Institute’s producer relations program.
As part of its mission, the organization provides farmers, ranchers and other land manger – called cooperators – with no-cost consultation services and educational programs to help them achieve their financial, production, stewardship and quality-of-life goals. The Paynes have been a cooperator since 2006 and are members of the Noble Research Institute’s strategic planning group for grazing lands and stocker cattle. They have held seminars with assistance from the Noble Research Institute for grazing practices, growing native grasses and caring for the land. They are true advocates for land stewardship and beef cattle production.
