In this video, we discuss how neocolonialism persists in Africa and the Middle East through various means of influence exerted by Western countries. We delve into the topic of the straight-line borders in the Middle East, which were drawn by the US and UK in the 20th century and have led to significant turmoil in the region. Additionally, we explore how the US has propped up dictatorships in Africa and promoted the production of consumer crops, neglecting essential crops like rice and wheat.

Moreover, we examine how the French continue to de facto colonize much of Western Africa by using an African version of the French franc printed in France, and how Western countries extract Africa's resources with little in exchange, perpetuating the cycle of exploitation.

By discussing these issues, we aim to shed light on the ongoing neocolonialism in Africa and the Middle East and its impact on the local population. We hope to inspire critical thinking and spark conversations around the need for more equitable and just global relationships.
