As this is Maddie's first time (I believe) competing at the Dance Awards, she did amazing. Maddie's musicality really shines throughout the competition, especially in the Improv competition. I think that she really proved that she can stand with the other amazing junior dancers as one of the best of the best despite likely have less technical training (as seen recently on the show, the girls don't get nearly as much dance instruction as some of the other top dancers in the country). I believe that Maddie's musicality and her ability to pick up choreography well really served her well throughout this competition. That said, I think the top four placements were spot on. The other girls were amazing and Tate seemed like the clear winner. Hopefully Maddie can use this experience to continue growing as a dancer.
