Alisa's film statement:

Edgar Aftergood survived the Holocaust by keeping his humanity alive. At a young age, music became his joy and refuge from bullies due to his Jewish heritage. Later, much kept him human as the Nazis dehumanized the Jews and treated them like animals. The beautiful sounds of the orchestra in the ghetto sustained the Jews’ identity and even an SS soldier escaped into the music. Edgar’s life and memories imbued in me a sense that music can provide a refuge, can deliver from horror, can equalize humanity and can inspire. May the music in our lives change the world for the better.
