China, Russia and Iran to conduct joint naval drills in Gulf of Oman

China, Russia and Iran are set to hold joint naval drills in the Gulf of Oman. The drills will begin on Dec 27 (Friday) and last till Dec 30 (Monday). Beijing said the drills are aimed at deepening "exchange and cooperation" between the navies. This comes amid heightened tensions between the US and Iran, as well as months of tensions between the US and China over trade issues and the situation in Hong Kong.
