Hello and Welcome!
This video is a time-lapse from a recent trip across the country, from Los Angeles to Baltimore and then through to Canada. We start at our place in Los Angles and then take a very bizarre course across the country. We are husband and wife and both artists. We did a lot of sight seeing, a lot of exploring, and a little bit of camping. You may notice that we are often just going off road or taking random turns, as we are always looking for places to photograph and film. Sometimes we were just looking for a place to camp. One day happened to be a national holiday, and we didn’t even realize it. On that day, you’ll see us all over the place looking for a camp spot. Every single spot at every camp ground was taken, so we ended up with the bear hunters on the side of a dirt road. You may notice that we went through Sedona and then went back after the Grand Canyon; we had to take he dog to the vet for a foot infection.

We did this trip in a 20 year old Lexus RX300. Husband and wife and our little long haired chihuahua. Chase is a photographer and multimedia visual artist. Red is a singer, songwriter and musician.

We shot the video with a Gopro Hero 7 Black. It did an unbelievable job. It was going through the desert, high altitude, rain, sleet, snow, no problem. It’s a marvel.

The 4K nature shots are done with a Sony A7III using the following three lenses:

Zeiss Batis 40mm F2
Zeiss 55mm 1.8MM
Tamron 28-75mm

The Sony a7III is a great camera if you are looking to shot both video and digital photography. I recommend it. The 55mm zeiss is really an unbelievable lens. It’s incredibly sharp. It’ great. the Batis is amazing. I can’t pinpoint exactly why, but it makes everything look a level bigger. It has a cinematic feel. It’s also closer to the zeiss lens I use on my Contax G, for film photography. The Tamron works for when you need to zoom. It’s difficult to go around the world and try to get all of your shots with a 40 or 55. There’s a lot of other lenses that I would love to have, but these work for now.

It was a beautiful trip and we had a great time. The double rainbow was so epic. The sunsets for unbelievable time after time. We were just rolling through with no real plan and kept coming across such beautiful things. Our only goal was to visit our family in Canada when we can and take have an adventure along the way.

Special thank you to Rim Shoals Resort in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. It was such a beautiful place to recharge, and the White River was AMAZING.
