Not Your Average Backyard Shed | How-To: Using A Construction Calculator
Want to calculate your own rake wall? Start here!
Get a piece of paper and right this down..
Base Stud (stud you're starting off of, typically second stud in): 100" to short point of a 40* bevel (10/12 pitch)
Roof pitch: 10/12
Get your calculator and punch this in..
16 [INCH] [RUN] - 10 [INCH] [PITCH] - [RISE] - ___________...?
You should have gotten 13-5/16" from doing the above equation.
Now do this..
100 [INCH] (base stud height) + 13 [INCH] 5/16 = 113-5/16 to short point of a 40* bevel.
Hit "=" as many times as you need and it'll add that 13-5/16" over and over, giving you all of your stud numbers to short point..
