Hurricane Sally - Science and Summary from Chief Meteorologist Alan Sealls

Hurricane Sally made landfall before sunrise on September 16, 2020, in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The category 2 storm pummeled Baldwin County, and sadly, took lives. It was extreme rain and devastation for some coastal and shoreline locations. Sally was not just a coastal storm. It left many areas of damage throughout much of southern Baldwin County, Alabama, and neighboring counties of Mobile and Escambia (Florida). Damage extended northeastward into Escambia County, Alabama. Escambia County, Florida also was deluged by large rainfall. Storm surge flooded downtown streets of Pensacola, Florida. Some people called it the worst storm ever to strike their neighborhood. Chief Meteorologist gives the stats and the science behind Sally.
