The group was formed in 2007 by Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent, both of whom already had impressive bluegrass résumés. Jamie spent years singing with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, while Darrin played with Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder and is the brother of bluegrass star Rhonda Vincent.

They became successful almost immediately. At the 2008 IBMA Awards, Dailey & Vincent won Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, and Emerging Artist of the Year; they went on to win Entertainer and Vocal Group three years in a row. Their recordings include “By the Mark,” “On the Other Side,” “Elizabeth,” “Brothers of the Highway,” and the acclaimed album Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers.

The duo has also received three Grammy nominations and became members of the Grand Ole Opry in 2017. Their sound draws heavily from classic brother harmonies and groups such as the Statler Brothers, while their gospel singing reflects Dailey’s years with Doyle Lawson. They remain one of the acts most responsible for bringing traditional bluegrass harmony into a broader country audience.
