Wreck Diving Expedition Norway 2022 - Part 7: Norwegian Coastal Defense Ship "Norge"

Norwegian "Eidsvold"-Class Coastal Defense Ship P/S HNoMS "Norge" in the Narvik Harbour, Norway. Built in 1901 in Newcastle on Tyne, UK. Sunk in 1940 by the German destroyer Z11 "Bernd von Arnim" during the battle for Narvik. "Norge" and her sister ship "Eidsvold" were about 40 years in service and fully outdated when they got in the way of the German Kriegsmarine trying to stop the invasion. At this time they didn't stand a chance against the brand new state-of-art destroyers. Both ships were sunk without doing any harm to the invading force. About 300 Norwegian sailors died on both ships making their loss one of the largest national tragedies for the country during the WWII.
Wreck length - 95 m (310 ft)
Max depth - 26 m (85 ft)
