CURARSI CON I LIBRI | Elena Molini | TEDxReggioEmilia

Elena Molini is a publishing expert and an enthusiast of contemporary American fiction and
Scandinavian literature; in 2018 she opened a bookshop with an innovation approach based on
emotions.
Using the universal language of the emotions and breaking down the barriers created by
cultural differences can make books and reading once more accessible to everyone. Is healing
with books possible? Will a selected library based on emotions help us to live better? And if
the next leaflet we read was War and Peace?
Can books help to heal people?

Born in La Spezia, Florentine by adoption, she moved to Florence in 2003 to attend university.
Passionate about the world of publishing, specialising in the management of the processing phase of
the published product, she works as an editor in various contexts of the world of journalism and
publishing. She deals with the management of points of sale for a large chain of bookshops, deciding
in 2018 to open a bookshop with an innovative selection approach based on emotions.
More than 4,000 titles subdivided into 70 categories: a colour for each type of suffering, from
unrequited love to a crisis of identification, to hypochondria: «curable» symptoms with books marked
with a leaflet.
She’s crazy about contemporary American fiction and Scandinavian literature. She loves small artistic
cinemas and the theatre; her favourite book is Trilogy of the city of K by Agota Kristof. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
