Why You Shouldn't Forget "Why" You Started Playing Bass! /// Scott's Bass Lessons
**Lesson Overview:**
It’s so easy to forget why we started playing bass in the first place. Stuff just get’s in the way, right?
Rhythm, chord tones, scales, modes, slap, technique, harmony, I could go on and on… there’s a lot of stuff we need to be constantly working on…
But is this why we started playing in the first place?
Errrr… No! ;)
The gag is, when we forget why we started playing in the first place, it can have a dramatically negative effect on our bass playing, our approach to learning, and our overall progression as a musician…
In this lesson I’m going to discuss this issue in depth, my thoughts around it, plus show you a cool approach that you can start using immediately that will help you keep the fun in what you’re working on and practising on a day to day basis.
**Your Homework:**
1. Do you have a habit of forgetting why you started playing bass in the first place, and do you feel this has a negative effect on you and your playing?
2. Have you used play-alongs before? Do you create them yourself, or do you find them on the web?
Let us know in the comments below!
As always, see you in the shed…
Scott :)
PS. Before I go… news flash…
