Animated GIF vs Burst Mode GIF - What's the Difference?

While similar, there are differences. Animated gif files are composed of images captured during a standard photo session. They can be used in conjunction with a print. Burst mode gif files are composed of still image captured while recording a video during a burst session. Burst mode gifs tend to be smoother but can not be used for printing.
