Jet Engine run with Bio Diesel. 80% diesel and 20% Candle nut oil. High performance aviation fuel.

In this video we tested Bio Diesel as fuel for our jet engine. Final year project for aerospace engineering students from Chennai. They wanted to study performace of the jet engine with bio fuels. They got 4 different types of mixtures. All mixed along with Diesel in some percentage. Main objective of thsi project is to minimise or reduce fossil fuel dependency. We tested with 1 liter of mixed fuel and our engine ran for about 6 minutes with half throttle.

Engineering final year students can work on such projects. These days reducing fossile fuel is critical for our invironments. Lots of study is going on on this subject. Thrust was calculated based on fuel supply via the brushed pump. A constant voltage was provided via the AC/DC converter. It was noted a thrust of 1.8KG on 4.9Volts. On pure diesel thrust was about 2kg and on Kerosene thrust was about 2.2Kg with the same amout of fuel flow.
Result is impressive as we got 1.8kg after using 20% of Bio oil (CandleNut) and 80% of diesel)
