Today we travel from the backpacker paradise of Ella to Nuwara Eliya, the hub of tea in Sri Lanka.

There are many ways to travel around Sri Lanka, but by far our favourite method is to take the train. Today we will be travelling in second class on the scenic train from Ella to Nuwara Eliya.

This three hour train journey winds it way through the hill country of Sri Lanka passing through tea fields and small villages along the way, and is often referred to as the most beautiful train journey in the world.
