What is a Potentiometer Sensor? | Skill-Lync
Do you know how the fuel gauge in an automobile tells you the exact fuel level in the tank? It uses a simple sensor called the potentiometer sensor.
A potentiometer sensor works similarly to a rheostat. It is based on the principle that resistance changes as we change the length of the wire over a fixed distance. They can be used to measure both linear and angular displacement.
The result of the potentiometer sensors is also useful in various other applications such as electric guitars, volume controls, operating settings in TVs, and so on.
Potentiometer gives accurate measurements and is easy to use.
