Woodlands Theme Park Devon | Things To Do In Devon | Family Days Out

Join us as we visit Woodlands Family Theme Park Near Totnes in Devon.
This is the biggest theme park in Devon and is not a place you want to miss if you are visiting that part of the country.
Originally a dairy farm this amazing 90 acre park is now a 90 acres (36 ha) metropolis of family attractions, such as rides, slides, boats and it is also home to over 500 different animals.
It has 10 different zones, such as the Dino Trek, giving you that Jurassic park experience, to a farm area, allowing you to mingle with goats, donkeys, pigs and horses. Note that when you do enter the park, there is the opportunity to purchase feed for these animals for a couple of pounds a bag, and we recommend you do so as kids will love the experience (even if they do not love the slimy hands after).
Then there is the amazingly large indoor play area, with huge slides that require mats to the famous death slide that is not for the feint hearted. This huge enclosure, caters for both toddlers as well as the older kids and there are fruit machines and a café to entertain the adults. We visited the park in October and with the weather being typically British, it was great to have an area that you could go to out of the rain that the kids loved and actually did not want to leave. There are a couple of indoor play areas on the park, so no matter where you are you are never to far from shelter should you need it.
There are 3 amazing waterslides, both open and ones that go through tunnels, there is a dry toboggan run, which is amazing fun and even toddlers can go on them with an adult (Actually surprising considering how fast they go on the return run)
There are various other slides and rides throughout the park, in fact every corner you turn, you find another zone filled with it's own style, from sandpits to towers that shoot the occupants up approx. 40ft in the air.
Then there are the creatures, from Peacocks, that randomly appear behind you and hoot, to mountain goats that are more than happy to show off their balancing skills. Alligators, Owls, Meerkats and Goats, in fact there are not many types of animal you will not find here..
They also have an amazing falconry, which houses some stunning birds of prey. They do 2 shows a day, where they are let out and do the tricks, definitely worth trying to catch if you can be in that area of the park at the right time.
We visited in October and were fortunate enough to be there when 'Halloscream' Week was on, so it did have a few additional bits and pieces on such as random tickets scattered throughout the park, that when found and handed in, could be swapped for kids treats.
Overall, after visiting many different parks, we have found this park to be by far the best value for money. Ticket prices vary depending what time of the year and day you are visiting, but with it having such incredible indoor play areas, it is definitely an all weather park.
