Know Your Place - God's Message to You

If we happen to be the children of earthly parents who love us greatly, it is easy to be confident in that love and be content in our daily lives, knowing we are deeply valued by those parents. With God, on the other hand... we often doubt in His love, and question whether He even wants anything to do with us at all. God created our parents and their love for us, and the love they freely give to us is in effect an extension of Him. So how much more does our heavenly Father love us?

The love of God is an immeasurable, vast attribute of Himself. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 sums up exactly what love is. God is not the Author of Confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), but of ‘peace’. He wants us to ‘rest’ in His love. He wants us to wrap it around ourselves like a blanket, and be secure and content knowing that He knows what we need, even before we ask for it. We're to approach with confidence, respect and genuine need. Trust is also a vital component that allows our relationship with Him to be unhindered, developing and true. God is love (1 John 4:7-21), and whoever knows love and provides it, is an extension of God, and knows Him.

Knowing our place is as much a blessing for us as it is for God, who deeply wishes to be with us in all manner of a Father-Child relationship. There is no parent more loving, more appreciative than God, who wants to have a personal relationship with each of us.
