Michael Parenti: The Legacy of U.S. World Economic Domination (KPFA, 1993)

https://www.pacificaradioarchives.org/recording/az1002

Talk by political analyst Michael Parenti which examines how developments in the United States during the 1980's and 90's have shaped United States foreign policy. He discusses endemic poverty in Central America, as well as much of the Third World, despite the abundance of natural resources in those countries. The industrialized countries, he reasons, have created this crisis, with the transnational corporations dominating the process. Another characteristic of this economic domination is political oppression, for the United States supports repressive governments to secure its economic interests. Parenti goes on to argue that a grass roots movement within the United States is the only way to stop the oppressive policies of our own elite.
