Ugly Stick Pulse Jet Starts FINALLY!

This is a somewhat tedious video of starting my Ugly Stick pulse jet for the second time. I sort of made it that way on purpose because I don't think there is any really good info on starting one of these. In the first place you can't start it with a single 20 psi puff of air like the lightweight stainless Chinese and thermojet designs. You have to blow fairly high pressure air (60psi in the video) for something like a minute and a half before it gets hot enough to run on its own. Gas flow has to be high as well. This jet will burble at low gas and air pressure but it won't start there which is why I wasted 3 days before I figured out it needs high pressure air and fairly high gas flow--and for a LONG time. It's made as close to the drawing as I could get it except I'm using a 3/16" copper injection line because I though it wasn't getting enough gas with the 1/8" line (.06" id copper). After I learned how to start it--the 1/8 inch line works as well. (Too much gas will choke it also, so you have to keep adjusting until you find a workable flow). My gas feed consists of a flexible tank hose, going to a pressure gauge, with a brass needle valve for an adjustable safety choke in case I turn the tank valve the wrong way. Then the copper 3/16 or 1/8" line comes out of the needle valve to the jet with a 90 degree upturn on the end like the drawing. Electronic6699 shows a similar start up using a gas leaf blower on in his Ugly Stick Valveless Pulse Jet instead of a compressor. Again it takes awhile to get it hot enough to run, which I didn't understand when I first watched his video.
