Develon DD130 Dozer with Leica Geosystems 3D Machine Control in action with first impressions

At the DEVELON Europe Demo Days in Prague, Peter Haddock caught up with James Stones from NLS Contracts after he tested out the Develon DD130 dozer equipped with Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon 3D machine control. 

Talking about the business and his first impressions of using the Dozer setup, James said:

“We specialise in construction, land drainage and golf course construction. A lot of our projects are delivered using 3D, from CAD designs and digital terrain models right through to 3D models on the machines and mapping the finished product.

“Running 3D machine control is good for the business. It makes doing the job more efficient, and we love it. We wouldn’t go back.

“The DD130 setup is very nice. And the 3D runs really smoothly on the machine with great hydraulic control. I can see it being a good option for us and something we might put to work in the future.”

Peter added: “Meeting people like James straight after they test a new machine and technology combination really brings home the importance of live dig events, where the overall solution can be put through its paces.

“I would definitely recommend attending a Develon Demo Day in the future.”
